Nolan Altman is moving his talk on “Patronymic
Naming and Cemetery Records - Their Importance in Jewish Genealogy” to Sunday afternoon at 4:30 PM.
This talk will cover the symbols typically found on headstones, naming traditions, and more. For those
planning to go on one of the cemetery tours, this talk may prove invaluable in understanding the tombstones of your family, and in determining whether a stone is, in fact, that of an ancestor or a person who has the same secular name.
It is also of interest to any Jewish genealogist who would like some pointers in interpreting the tombstones of our ancestors.
See you in less than two months! Chuck Weinstein Program Chair, 39th Annual IAJGS International
