One of the highlights of attending an IAJGS conference is the wealth of research databases available in the Resource Room. This year’s selection will have something to please everyone. There will be both subscription databases that are available at no fee during the conference and a selection of databases by category that are “free” databases. A previous email discussed ProQuest Day—Wednesday, July 31. This email announces the other subscription and non-subscription databases. This is a perfect way to try out the subscription databases before deciding to subscribe! It is best to bring with you an USB drive to make copies of any records/newspaper articles etc. that you may find of value. The links to the databases will only be on the resource room computers and their links/password/ user names will not be shared for your personal computers. No exceptions! You are requested NOT to use your own subscriptions on any of the computers accessing the subscription databases as many people will be accessing the same computers. The following are the hours the resource room will be open: Sunday, not open Monday & Tuesday, 9:00 am - 5:30 pm Wednesday, 9:00 am - 9:00 pm ProQuest Day Thursday, 9:00 am - 5:00 pm ProQuest Databases Available Friday, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm Subscription Databases The subscription databases that will be available during the conference are in alphabetical order: American Ancestors by the New England Historic Genealogical Society Ancestry.com -worldwide database Cleveland Public Library Genealogy Resources/Research Databases Findmypast.com Fold3.com Geni.com Genteam.at Godfrey.org Premium subscription databases IAJGS.org JewishGen.org Jewishdata.com Images of Jewish Tombstones, school yearbook pages and Citizen Jewish Heritage Center at the New England Historic Genealogical Society Museum of the Jewish People Beit Hatfutsot MyHeritage.com–all databases including their newspaper database Newspapers.com United States Holocaust Memorial Museum Yad Vashem JGSs Several JGSs and SIGs that have databases that are usually accessible only to their dues-paid members have agreed to make the databases available to all conference attendees in the resource room.
